TVSN taps Simplestream to re-launch TVSN Now with new virtual channels

Australia and New Zealand teleshopping broadcast network, TVSN, chose Simplestream to power a revamped set of OTT services, across multiple platforms.

London, 14/02/2012 - TVSN, Australia and NewZealand’s leading broadcast network specialised in home shopping, has chosen Simplestream to power the expansion of its teleshopping channel beyond traditional, linear distribution. ‘Open’ 24/7, TVSN Now is the new destination for millions of consumers looking to shop through the fashion, health, beauty, kitchen, electronics, homewares, and jewellery departments, from the comfort of their homes - “Anywhere Anytime”. Personalised department-based channels further enhance the customer experience.

London-based Simplestream deployed its core products to create a richer-than-ever shopping experience for audiences down under. The solution for TVSN was built by combining Media Manager, App Platform, and Channel Studio. It provides the customer with a powerful framework to deliver, present, and – most importantly –monetise premium commercial TV content, across a variety of platforms and devices.

Media Manager uses a fully automated OTT content workflow, allowing TVSN operators to automate the ingestion of on demand content from various sources, inclusive of metadata and stock/pricing information. The content management system is deeply integrated with App Platform, which offers a comprehensive set of out-of-the-box UIs and functionalities to aid content discovery, as well as best-in-class on demand consumption for end-users across all major app stores. Simplestream helped TVSN to initially launch a fully revamped set of apps on Android, iOS, and tvOS, with LG TV and Samsung TV soon available too.

Channel Studio powers virtual, thematic channels, enriched by dynamic graphic overlays for upsell and oversell opportunities. TVSN can monetise its content offering by providing end-users with data-driven overlays tailored per piece of content with pricing, stock levels, and even more info. Shopping basket buttons prompt the users directly to the eCommerce website, which includes over 12,000 products available for purchase.
