Vice President of Sales, EMEA
Simplestream is an award-winning Video Platform as a Service (VPaaS) provider, powering live streaming, video-on-demand and catch-up TV for some of the world’s most recognisable media and sports brands. The role
As VP of Sales, EMEA, you will own our commercial expansion across the EMEA region (excluding the UK and Ireland). Your mission is to break into new markets, establishSimplestream’s presence region by region, and build the local sales team to support that growth. Our initial priority markets are Southern Europe, DACH and the Nordics, with the Middle East as a potential further opportunity.
This is a player/coach role. You’ll spend roughly a third of your time selling — carrying your own pipeline and closing strategic early deals — and the rest building and leading the team that scales each new market. Your headline target is to build and manage a $5M+ ARR
sales pipeline within the first 12 months. You’ll be backed by our London-based marketing and customer success teams, who will support demand generation, campaigns and post-sale delivery so you can focus on winning and growing accounts.
The role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in mainland Europe, with travel across the region as you open up new markets.
Key responsibilities
• Drive regional expansion — Identify priority markets across EMEA and build a clear, phased plan to enter and grow each one.
• Sell from the front — Own your own pipeline and personally close strategic early deals — roughly a third of your time — to establish Simplestream in each new region.
• Build the team — Hire, onboard and develop salespeople in each region as it scales, creating the playbook and culture that lets them succeed.
• Partner with marketing & CS — Work closely with the London-based marketing and customer success teams to fuel demand and deliver for customers post-sale.
• Grow through partners — Expand reach through partnerships, channels and AWS Marketplace alongside direct enterprise sales.
• Run it well — Manage your regional budget, track the KPIs that matter, ensure GDPR compliance, and make ROI-focused decisions.
In your first year, we would expect you to:
• Build and manage a $5M+ ARR sales pipeline within 12 months across the region.
• Define and launch Simplestream’s EMEA expansion plan, prioritising Southern Europe, DACH and the Nordics, with the Middle East as a potential further market.
• Personally win a set of strategic reference deals that open up new regions.
• Make your first regional sales hires and have them ramping productively.
• Establish a predictable, data-driven view of regional pipeline and forecasting the leadership team can rely on
Essential capabilities and experience
• 10+ years in senior B2B sales leadership, ideally within broadcast, OTT, SaaS or related technology.
• A proven track record of opening new markets and delivering significant revenue growth across EMEA.
• Genuinely hands-on: comfortable carrying your own pipeline and closing strategic deals yourself, not just managing a team.
• Experience hiring and building sales teams from the ground up across multiple countries.
• A strong network across broadcasters, content owners, operators and media-technology partners in the region.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and pitches.
• Based in mainland Europe and willing to travel across EMEA.
Desired capabilities and experience
• Experience scaling SaaS or technology businesses across multiple European markets.
• Knowledge of AWS Marketplace and partner ecosystems.
• Familiarity with media, broadcasting and streaming technology.
• Additional European languages.
