Simplestream won the “Best App or Website for Channel, Strand or Genre” award for long-standing client At The Races at the Broadcast Digital Awards 2016, a ceremony that celebrates the most creative and innovative digital work in the UK.
The nomination recognises the market impact of At The Races as the UK’s market-leading horse racing website and TV channel in offering a premium sports experience to bring fans the best of British racing. Simplestream launched the mobile betting app and multiscreen video service, creating an industry-first across the UK’s racing industry that attracts more than two million TV viewers and 2.5 million website visitors a month.

At The Races is the first racing provider in the UK to offer a dynamic secure API driven multiple-betting system within a single app, enabling users to compare odds and bet directly within the app from leading bookmakers such as Bet365, Coral, Ladbrokes and William Hill. The At The Races television channel data feeds and race replay system delivers real-time updates on the latest odds, tips and race results. The live channel feed is supplemented with glossy racecard information, together with racing replays made available within a few minutes of each race. The app also includes is a searchable archive of over 12,000 races from 51 racecourses in the UK and Ireland and news programmes from daily editions and popular magazine shows.
